Realizing the dream.... Your Data, Any Time, Any Place on Any Device... Bill Gates spoke about it - Standing up on stage in Orlando, Florida on a Wednesday morning in July 2000 (Read the whole speech here and here). Five years later - we see this dream being realized in its totality.

 

Technology such as Microsoft's Folder Share (www.foldershare.com) lets you share your windows folders over the internet so that you can access you data from just about anywhere -  anywhere where you have an Internet connection. Vendors such as Orb Networks (www.orb.com) allow you to share your media including MP3z, Videos, photos and even "live" TV from your computer to any device - any where on the planet - all that you need is an Internet endpoint - which could be any device capable of hooking up to the Internet, including but not limited to your PDA, Cell phone, Tablet or what the heck I forgot .. it could very well be just another PC ;-)  and all this is FREE! Is that cool or what?
